$6.00 in Real Estate

Six spaces for $6.00 at the Harvard Cemetery.

In August of 1887, Josiah Negley lost his son Newton to lockjaw and buried him in the Harvard Cemetery. It wasn't until June 18, 1888 that he made the purchase of the cemetery plot official.

Mary Negley, at just 1 year old, used the next space in 1908. She was George & Lena Negley's daughter, granddaughter of Josiah and Sarah Negley.

Josiah, Sarah and their daughter Alice took the next spaces in 1921, 1927 and 1962 respectively.  Josiah David Calvin Negley, who was born just 36 days after the death of his brother Newton, was laid to rest in December of 1967, 79 & 1/2 years after the plot was purchased.
